This one was lots of fun! It was my first solo hike, and with it only being a 8 mile hike (round trip) it was a great way to see how I would do.  The switchbacks start immediately from the parking lot. There was some snow fall only four days before my hike, and although this trail was traveled often, there was lots of ice to contend with on the trail. So I highly recommend using crampons.  About 90% of the hike is climbing and the view just keeps getting better and better with every step.  If you're not trying to set or beat a record, I do encourage you to take your time and enjoy yourself. Especially at the top! I stayed up at the peak for about 45 mins. I had my sandwich and took way too many pictures of all the angles. It's a 360 degree view up there. I'll be doing this one again and again!!

Before you go, make sure you have your valid Adventure pass displayed, as people were getting ticketed when I returned to my vehicle.
