Rough and Tough Rose

Was feeling the holiday malaise and was going to skip this one but my better half convinced me to finish! It rained yesterday so the trail was mucky—made the boots heavy and trail a bit harder. However, the sun was shining, birds were singing, and the trail had all kinds of beautiful things to look at from rolling grass, to lichen and mushrooms. Only saw three people on the trail today— we savored the silence and the warm sun. Happy New Year to all!
