New Year’s Day Hike

Wife and I decided to go for a sunset hike at 1330 after a very late night New Year movie marathon. Driving from Otay Ranch to the trailhead we passed by Iron Mountain and Mt Woodson (Potato Chip) and to our surprise there were a lot of hikers and the parking lots were packed .

For this hike I decided to wear my Altra trail shoes but the trail had intermittent patches of ice, snow, melting snow and mud, so my left foot got wet.  At about 1.75 mile the wind picked up. We would have stayed a little bit longer at the peak but it was getting too cold for my wife. But the sunset was amazing.
