Hiked with a group

This was an interesting course to pick for my first ever backpacking trip. Fortunately we had another experienced backpacker with us.
We started at Del Valle, hiked at Maggie’s Half Acre, and continued onto Sunol.
There were a lot of wildflowers out and the temperatures were perfect. For anyone going- it is a very exposed hike, both to sun and wind. Maggie’s Half Acre was exceedingly windy.
Out pace was pretty slow and we didn’t make it to the campsite until after dark but it was so worth it.
Water- Make sure you bring plenty of it. There are a couple water spots along the way (all marked on the permit map) to top off. Check with EBRPD to make sure the water is on. And bring a filter for it.
