Awful Service Rd

I found it a horrible hike on the service road the whole time. If I didn’t have a goal to get to the lookout, I would have said forget this hike. Plus I had great company to keep me motivated, focus, and help push me to the top. Pam at the lookout was so nice and friendly. We learn so much about her job and really appreciate her time. Seeing Humphreys Peak in the distance was beautiful, however, the fire from the east made breathing horrible. The bugs only at the lookout were annoying. The lava was cool to see. Otherwise direct sunlight and boring hike to the top. Glad it’s over with!!
