Hiked with a group
Black Mountain is another busy hiking trail that regular hikers around Bay Area pick up for their weekend physical activity. Many runners and hikers opt this trail to train themselves when preparing for upcoming runs or hikes. A portion of it is also called as the PG&E trail therefore chances are you will find some casual hikers unaware that this same also trail leads to the Black Mountain. The hike itself is not as strenuous though the elevation gain is close to 3000 ft. And most part of the trail is shaded so one reason many prefer to come to this trail.
Being aware of high number of folks showing up, I and my hiking buddies decided to be at the trail head as soon as the gates opened to make sure to get our parking spots. We have been doing this trail every year so it was a great to be back again. As it was late fall, though not much of fall color but nature preserved its own beauty. While at the summit we enjoyed our cup of hot chocolates, prepared for as we expected, little bit of chill perfect for the relaxing moment before we headed back to the parking lot.
Another Black Mountain hike to remain etched in memory.
