Final Push to Summit Bierstadt

I was mesmerized by how many fellow hikers were on this trail with us! Looking back at the trailhead during our ascent was like looking at a string of glowing pearls bobbing their way up the trail. I can’t blame them, though. The weather was perfect, if a little cold. We took the hard route when we reached the saddle and went for our final approach – my knees did not appreciate clambering over all those rocks after a week of intense hikes. We noticed the cairns to the side on our way down that revealed a much kinder trail. When you get to the saddle look to the north and you’ll see the better way up.
