Hiked with a partner

We hiked up Mount Chocoura on Sunday, May 28, 2023. It was a hot one. In the high 80s / low 90s. As someone who is fair weather recreationist, the high temperatures made this hike a bit challenging. I am not a fan of hot weather. It was a beautiful day though, with beautiful clear views on the summit. We hiked up from the Hammond Trailhead. I didn’t pay close enough attention coming down from the summit and I took a wrong turn and ended up at the Liberty Trailhead parking lot. Luckily my partner had hiked ahead of me – taking the correct way down – and was able to pick me up. I encountered a couple of other people on the trail who made the same mistake I did, so pay attention to the trail signs! The Hammond Trailhead parking area was already full when we got there in the morning. The parking area is quite small. We didn’t encounter too many people hiking up and down, but the summit was a bit crowded. It’s a challenging hike in some areas, including some steep rock scrambles. Bugs were a bit of an nuisance. Recommend bug spray
