Foggy Mt Tam

Foggy to arrive and it didn’t clear until well into the afternoon. Hoped we’d be able to catch the view from the top but weren’t lucky that day. The cool weather was such a relief after a brutally hot summit to Diablo in September. Blue angels were flying but we didn’t get to spot them given the fog and clouds.  The trail was pretty packed due to the final pancake breakfast at the West Point inn. The trail up was so beautiful – glad we went counterclockwise because the rocks would have been difficult going down. The 16 miles was certainly long – getting to the summit wasn’t bad but the hike dragged a bit after mile 12 with never ending switchbacks downhill. But we made it! And overall it was our favorite hike of the bunch.
