Gaviota met our quota

Woohoo ???? number six of the central California six pack of peaks. After all the rain this year I really didn’t think Gaviota would open up. But they came in and plowed the fire road so it was fairly easy going except after doing grass mountain the day before my legs were tight. Lots of the native plum trees were heavy with fruit. In the shaded areas lots of those little fly/gnats and the lowers elevation were an annoyance, even bug spray didn’t deter them. Attempted to go to the hot springs on the trail but slimy mud and a mix of blackberry and poison oak over growing the way so baled on getting there. Opted instead to go to Gaviota beach and get the tired legs in the cold ocean!
