Great Day in the Trails!

First time getting up to Wilson this way. Did the loop. Took the upper trail to Sturtevant Camp and enjoyed the waterfall and all the water along that trail. Lots of spring flowers too. The hike once you reach the camp up to Wilson is definitely challenging but there is a lot of shade which is much appreciated. Enjoyed our break up top and then took the trail from the parking lot down to the upper winter creek trail. You walk right through the destruction from the Eaton fire. It is sobering knowing what that section of the trail used to look like. It is also now very exposed. Was happy to leave that behind once we reached the turn off for the winter creek trail. That trail is in great shape with lots of flowers and ample shade. Enjoyed a cold drink when we came down at the pack station.  The consensus with our group was that we liked this option more than the older option from Sierra Madre. And since we did it on a weekday, there were no issues with parking.
