It starts off as a rocky single trail for about 2 miles then it turn turns onto a fire road. There were a lot of bugs. I highly recommend a net and bug spray. It was very hot so I brought 3 liters of water. There is not much shade. I tried to get up and back quickly due to the heat. The view at peak is beautiful and you can see the Palomar Observatory.
