Mount Diablo

Most of the entrances to Mount Diablo remain closed. Fortunately, you can still get to Mitchell Canyon Road. There are only two parking spots (for a fee) at the trail head, otherwise you will need to park about a mile down the road. When we finished our hike, we saw all the cars along Mitchell Canyon Road near the trail head had been ticketed.

This was a challenging 6+ miles up rocky terrain. There is running water at the top of Mount Diablo.

Note: Watch out for rattlesnakes!
