Mount Saint Helena
Also on this hike
Today was quite clear and the trail was dry. The views were spectacular and started within the first 1.5 mile or so. This made the somewhat-boring logging trail much more enjoyable. I started in the morning and quickly shed my layers … then began adding them back as the elevation increased and the wind became more intense. I intended to eat lunch at the summit, but it was much too windy! Hike back down the mountain was quick and easy, but I wished I had my trekking poles to take some load off my hips! Overall this was a lovely hike and a great way to spend a Friday.
That wind at the top can be brutal! The hike on the other side of the road to table rock has some better spots to stop for a snack.
Thank you for the tip! I’d like to come back and try table rock. 🙂
