Lake Tahoe Mt. Baldy Hike Recap

It was a glorious day in Lake Tahoe as we set out to conquer the 4th peak of the Lake Tahoe 6 Peak Challenge, Mt. Baldy.

We hit the trail promptly at 8:00 a.m., moving steadily upward under sunny, clear skies. The weather was cool at first but warmed up quickly. The trail treated was a gradual, steady climb. Along the way, we passed a few other hikers and mountain bikers, all enjoying the day.

The scenery was spectacular with lush forest and views of the lake and surrounding peaks. Needless to say many photos were taken. The group  spread out along the trail, each hiker taking the climb at their own pace.

I reached the summit of Mt. Baldy with another fast hiker around 11:15 a.m., where we took a short break to soak in the views before beginning the descent. On the way down, we crossed paths with the rest of our group, exchanging pictures, and trail info before continuing back to the cars.

We arrived back at the cars around 2:15!

In total, we covered 15.29 miles, gained 2,949 feet in elevation, and completed the hike in about six hours.

A huge thanks to everyone from the Bay Area Hikers who came out to share this adventure!
