Mt. Diablo summit via Mitchell Canyon

We parked 1 mile outside the Mitchell Canyon trailhead parking lot, adding an extra 2 miles overall to the hike. The day was warm, about 70 degrees, but felt like it was 100 degrees on some of the parts of the trail when there was no shade and some steep elevation. Once we got to the summit, we enjoyed a nice cold Coke. We were moving pretty slow, we started the hike from our parking spot at 6:40am and got back to the car at 6:35pm. Overall about 16 miles.
