This was a point-to-point hike starting from Deer Springs Trail and ending at Devil’s Slide Trail in Humber Park.

The summit is 9.25 miles from Deer Springs Trailhead. The trail is fairly steep, with an elevation gain of 5200 feet. Sections between Marion Mountain Junction and Little Round Valley require steep climbing on boulders with thorny shrubs. The trail gets a bit less defined during the last mile – need to be extra careful during this section. The last 0.3 miles is straight up scrambling over steep boulders, but the views at the top are worth the extra effort.

Coming back down, we took the Wellman divide trail to Devil’s slide trail via the PCT. This was extremely pleasant and very scenic. Overall, it was 17.25 miles from Deer Springs Trailhead to Humber Park.
