The first couple of miles were steep uphill, nice trail with switchbacks, good condition. Then fire road the rest of the way. Snow and ice on parts of the road in the shade. Poles definitely came in handy. We even made a snowman!
Beautiful views. Windy at the top, almost lost my hat! Stopped long enough to take a quick look around and a few photos. Looked down on the observatory (s). All downhill on the way back. Longer but easier than El Cajon Mtn.
