This was my 9 peak for Six Pack of Peaks (and 105h overall summit for the challenge). I’m excited to try and summit all 12 this year!

San Bernardino was a difficult hike in the August heat. Temps stayed in the high 70s, but people in my group were running out of water. We struggled at the end, but had a great hour+ at the peak. Wildflowers overflowed the burn zone (which was the majority of the trail). It is always heartbreaking to see a burn zone. We also battled wildfire smoke today from a fire in Santa Barbara. Air quality was poor, but we think it was better the higher we got (we hope).

We started the hike at 4:28 am and hit the peak at 10:13. We struggled on our way down and made it to the trailhead at 4:02 pm.
