Hiking up long fire roads sucks so we took the 4x4s up Maple Springs to “Four Corners” and parked. We started hiking on Main Divide to bag Santiago Peak first. On the way back we took the thorny and bushy single track towards Modjeska Peak. We scaled directly up the face which was a leg & lung burner! After the second summit, we trekked back to the parking spot and headed back to the Maple Springs trailhead. In retrospect, I would bag MP first then SP second as it more of a fluid route: little then big brother. Regardless, so much fun to do some off-roading and bag both of the OC unicorn peaks!
