SoCal Peak 4 – Wilson

The lot at Chantry Flat was full by 6:15am, Saturday. If the lot is full there is a private lot that charges $20 per car or you can drive back down the road and grab one of the few spots inside the white line. We got on the Sturtevant Trail at 6:45am. About a mile and a half down we took the side trail (out and back) to see Sturtevant Falls then we continued on upwards. Took us 5hrs to reach the summit. After resting at the café, filling up our bladders, and using the restroom we headed back down the Mount Wilson Trail to Winter Creek to Upper Winter Creek back to Chantry. The hike back down through the burn area was sad. So much lost. The last 5 miles felt like 10. Back at the car by 4pm. It was a long hot day on the mountain. Happy Trails!
