Solitude, Views, and Bugs

I was the only car in the Encinoso Parking Lot when I started my hike and had the trail and the mountain all to myself the entire hike up… just me and the bugs, which were so annoying I almost turned around and bailed on the hike before I even hit the first mile. I’m glad I didn’t because the views at the top and along the way were well worth it. And that solitude lasted until about 5 minutes after I arrived at the Sedona View point when someone I actually briefly chatted with on Bear Mountain last Sunday… what are the odds? ??‍♀️ And the views on the way down were just as spectacular as the way up.  I did consider for much of the hike if the other trail at Midgley Bridge would have had less bugs. ?
