Straight up and down of Mount Greylock

I  read the reviews, “touched” the link to the TH, arrived thinking the trail was easily marked. Talked to a few people at the TH and by the pond, looked on All trails… long story short… I was not at either Gould or Thunderbolt trails. Decided to just go for it since I could see the war memorial at the top of the mountain. I ended up on portions of Bellows Pipeline, Thunderbolt ski trail and an alt. Route Greylock Summit. Wildflowers, ferns, streams and steep rocky, rooted trail. I would not recommend following my route. The war memorial at the top is cool but the views were  a bit obscured from haze. Nice to have hike/tan to the top of MA highest nature point.
