The hard hike to no view!

Mailbox is always tough. You forget what a pain in the ass going up the Old trail is until you start doing it.

We got up the Old Trail in about 1.5 hours to enjoy a completely cloudy view, but hey, you don’t normally see mailboxes at this elevation. Took a leisurely pace down the New Trail to get down after pushing it a bit on the way up.

If you want parking, make sure you go early. We got there at 7:45 and all the parking was pretty much gone. Pretty dog friendly if your dog is athletic and not timid. My 45 lb Golden Retriever had a blast.
