Volcan Mountain Peak

The hike was beautiful.  So many trees along the way.  Amazing views  of green mountains, the Salton Sea, and Anza Borrego.   Well marked trail all the way to the peak and back.  We took the Five Oaks Trail on the way up to the peak instead of going up on the service road trail.  There was snow and ice on many parts of the trail going both ways, and there was also a lot of mud.  Make sure you wear good hiking shoes with good grip, spikes or trekking poles would have helped out in many spots. Not a very long trail but the snow and ice were a little challenging.
