Hi, I’m a visitor to the area and plan to take on the challenge in the next four weeks. I’d like to camp most of the time and would appreciate suggestions for each of the peaks. Happy trails!

    Hi Susanne!

Here is a list of some campsites for each peak:

Mount Umunhum – No camping on the trail or at the park at the trailhead. Would probably be easiest to pair this one with camping for Mount Sizer.

Mount Saint Helena – There is a reservable campground nearby at Bothe-Napa Valley State Park.

Mount Diablo – There are two reservable campgrounds within Mount Diablo state park Live Oak and Juniper Campground.

Mount TamalpaisMount Tamalpais State Park has two first-come/first-serve campgrounds Pantoll and Bootjack campgrounds.

Mount Sizer – Reservable campground at Henry Coe Ranch and first-come/first-serve backpacking permits that allow you to backpack to a campsite.

Rose Peak – There is camping available in Del Valle regional park and you can get permits ahead of time to backpack during the hike.
