April 6th, 2019 I started my first peak of the Six Pack Of Peaks Challenge: New England! I hike from Salisbury, CT – CT 41 AT Overnight Parking up the Appalachian Trail to Lion Head then to Riga Shelter and Campsites for an overnight! Beautiful views along the way and from Riga.
Continuing the hike the next day….

April 7th, 2019 I got up and continued on to my first peak of the Six Pack Of Peaks Challenge: New England! I hike from Riga Shelter and Campsites up the Appalachian Trail to the summit of Bear Mountain! Got to the Monument at the summit where I enjoyed the fresh air and beautiful views of CT, NY, and MA before starting my trek back to Salisbury, CT – CT 41 AT Overnight Parking.

Weather was perfect for hiking and backpacking. There was some snow on trail but nothing too terrible to hike on! Loved the views from a couple of the Vista’s and from Bear Mountain Summit! It was also a nice overnight stay at Riga Shelter and Campsites! Definitely staying at Riga was worth it and worth waking up to a beautiful sunrise!
