ROAD:

Road suitable for all vehicles

No bugs

Snow:

Intermittent snow – not hard to cross

We took the tram from Palm Springs to the top and hiked from there.  This was my 1st of my SoCal Six Pack of Peaks Challenge and the highest elevation I have ever done!  There was some snow and melting ice in some areas that covered the trail, but was easy to find on the other side due to footprints.  My friend and I experienced some elevation sickness about 1/2 a mile from the peak.  The rock scramble to the summit was no joke!  What a beautiful and clear day with amazing views!!  Next time I do this hike I will take it from Idyllwild.
