Took the first tram up at 8 am. Driving to the parking lot, it was already 90 in Palm Springs. When we finished the hike, driving out, my car read a temp of 109.
Once you get to the top, it was pretty mild on the mountain that early in the morning. By the time we took our break at the Divide, there was a nice cool breeze. So much so that I put a jacket on. On the peak, it was still cool enough that I put a jacket on. Peak forecasts were in the mid to high 50's and it felt like it, especially with the 10-15 mph wind.
On the way down though. About 1/3 left to go, the oven got turned on. Still very doable, since you were going downhill. But if you started I'd say past the 10 oclock tram up, you are asking for trouble.
Overall, the trail is in great condition. The streams were all flowing well. No snow left at all. Not many people on the trails. I think most of the people that went to the peak were on the 8 to 9 o'clock trips. The tram and restaurant/bar was not that crowded on the way out. Easily got a seat at the bar, and the tram down was maybe half full.
