Best day for this trail? Probably not. It was hot, especially on the descent. It was also not great air quality as we had a clear view of the Vista Fire near Baldy. Could see flames at times. Lots of smoke. Recommend pants on this trail as you come into contact with lots of prickly vegetation that is trying to take the trails back. There is still water flowing at just past 6 miles up which was awesome on the way down to top off our bottles. So cold. Definitely a challenging hike and happy to have conquered it for the 3rd year in a row!
