We started off at Chantry Flat at 7:00 am and we're actually on the trail by 7:30. The weather was beautiful and the first half of the mountain seemed a little too easy. Then we hit the elevation gain at Sturtevant Falls. We pushed on and reached the summit by 11:45, just in time for lunch. After a leisurely picnic, we headed down the mountain, this time opting for the Rim Trail/Mt Wilson toll road side of the mountain. Needless to say, what we thought was going to be a 14 mile loop ended up being an 18.3 mile “U” trail and a $7 Uber ride back up the the car. Lol! Live and learn. We had a great time for our first peak.
