So this was part of something I had been planning for some time. I wanted to double summit Rancho and Ontario for some time, but the attempt I made the saturday before was thwarted by waist deep snow, there had been a storm earlier in the week. So returning the next weekend, I was wasn't surprised to follow the trail up to Cucamonga and find that nobody had gotten past bighorn saddle so me and another climber would be the first up since the storm. I mostly followed since I didn't have crampons, but slowly and surely we made it up, trying to stay as close to trail as possible although that sometimes proved more dangerous. Walking around the fresh snow at the summit was a nice reward, and the day was clear enough to see out onto the ocean. (1/2)
