Peak #2! We did Baldy last week. Got to Chantry Flats at 6am. two other cars. This was a week day. Early part of the hike was very pleasant. At about midpoint of the ascent swarms of bugs showed up. We had insect repellent. It helped but effectiveness was limited. I suggest netting. Those last couple miles are challenging but keep pushing! Cosmic Cafe is still closed due to Covid19. Trek down was good. The parking lot was packed when we returned. We got it done in 7.5 hours with a leisurely lunch. My phone told me 17 miles.
