This hike takes you to two peaks, although only Sawmill is part of the challenge.
The hike started off easy and very scenic! I think they were sequoia trees (or in the same family at least). The trail is well maintained and easy to navigate through. About 1.7miles in we were reaching Mt Pinos peak which was landmarked by a radio tower… you’ll have gorgeous views in front of you but a total eyesore behind you!
Then we made our way to the Condor observation area (but no luck on bird sighting!). Pass the bench area was another opportunity to take in the vast view of the tree lined mountains! photos definitely don’t do it justice. The hike to sawmill had a few switchbacks and steady inclines and slopes, with one steep slope down (and again up once you make it out). The peak was marked with a stone formation and you can take photos with a sign. The almost 360 degree view was beautiful.
