This is my another day hike in fall after the Ice House Cucamonga. This is my second time summitting Mr. Baldy. It's tough, but I can feel that I have been building up more strength comparing the summit I made last summer.
I started on 8am sharp. 4 litter water, 1 of 4 is electrolyze water, and 3 bowling eggs, a big Asian pear, and some trail snacks. I also brought a light down jacket which was proved very necessary when I closed to the top.
Pretty smooth hike, Devil's back wasn't hold me. Before snow coming, it can easily walk through just with extra care. The last half mile is always challenge since you already hiked and climbed about 6 miles. But I made it, not bad at all. It takes me 4hr30min to summit, which was 12:30pm
Since this is the middle of week, very less hikers up there. I was only me on the top before I was back down. It was windy for sure, but the view is great, and the feeling of achievement.
The down hill hiking was much better than I though. I didn't get much knee pain, no hurt ankle either. I guess this is the reward for my continuous hiking this year.
Which peak will the next? Mt. Wilson?
