This was our last 2023 6 Pack peak. We joined the trail about a third of a mile up the ascent via a dirt road. There was a chance of rain in the afternoon so we got started around 0800-ish. If you've done this hike you'll know that the single track portion of the trail in the first 2 miles is fairly steep and can be an ankle turner in spots where its rocky, but this year it seemed better groomed. Once we cleared the single track and got on the fire road portion we were able to pick up the pace and went from a 2.3 mph pace to a blistering 2.6 mph pace. That was good thing because the further up we went the worse the weather was getting. Made to the top in 2 hours and change just in time to get rain and no visibility. Got the pics and made a beeline down the hill until we cleared the cloud and rainy section and made it back to the car to finish up in 4 hours and thirty two minutes.
