Went camping in Kern County and decided to tackle the 3-2-1 challenge as well.
Great day for a hike, definitely hot but not unbearable.
Hiked with 3 other people and 3 dogs.
Definitely make sure to bring plenty of water if you will be doing all 3 peaks.
The elevation/incline was not too bad for Mount Pinos; easy walk to the towers.
From there, moving forward to Sawmill Mountain was also not too difficult.
A few long switchback downhill to go back up leads to Sawmill Mountain, where hikers can find a rock formation.
Two of the people in our group headed back shortly after this hike, but I continued with Victor and his dog to the final destination, Grouse Mountain.
Grouse Mountain is less of an exposed peak and more of a tree covered area, but still beautiful and worth it.
Definitely felt beat one the way back, but a great experience overall.
