I've had a difficult time finding someone to do my second peak with but the stars finally aligned and I made it to Sawmill. It was the perfect weather for a peak. It rained on and off on the 60+ miles on the highway, then when we got off it started to clear up a little, even saw some rainbows. Once we turned on the final road though the last seven miles were super foggy with almost no visibility. I had no idea what to expect from the trail at this point. It was foggy and drizzly when we set out, but after a couple of miles, it started to burn off. By the time we got to Pinos it was really clearing up and the wind was starting. From that point on it was pretty clear and sunny. We did not have time to do the entire 3-2-1 challenge so Sawmill was our final destination for the day. The views were fantastic. On the way back the wind really kicked up between the Chumash Wilderness sign and the Tumamait Trail entrance. Overall it was an amazing hike and I can't wait to go back.
