Mt Pinos is fun to hike in the winter time. In fact, I snowshoed it twice earlier in the year….before it was an alternate. So, it only seemed fair that I hike it again after it was inducted into the SoCal 6POPs Challenge hall of fame. Only this time it needed to be longer. So I was going to add Sawmill Peak.

While making my way to Sawmill, I met a nice father and son team, Rupert and Zack, also heading that way. They also told me that some other hikers told them about this 3,2,1 Challenge that included Pinos, Sawmill and Grouse Peak. Wasn't a huge hike, so I figured why not. And you could send in your peak photos to get a certificate of completion and purchase a patch if you so desired. Cool! Here's a link to the site.

I'd have to say that the 11 mile hike was challenging enough to make it worthy of the SoCal 6POPs. So you guys should totally do it!
