A lot of people have commented on the road leading to the trailhead. I was glad to be in a high clearance 4×4, but I did see a Yaris that made it almost all the way(!).  The trail crosses the creek and winds through aspens to Armstrong Pass, where then it is a steady, moderate climb to Freel Pass.
The trail to the peak heads off the TR Trail to the right through some trees (watch closely here to stay on trail), emerging on a talus and rock slope that is the hardest part of the hike. It’s roughly a mile to the peak. Gorgeous views from the top!
