Starting with the day permit. There were no pases left for the Vivian Creek trail, so I was able to get the south fork side. I saw on Forest Ranger and asked for the pass. Make sure you get one before going there.
I am so glad I was able to end this challenge with SG at 11503 ft elevation. elevation gained 4734 ft. Trail. 19.6 miles.
The trail ground is Rocky. If you do t have strong ankles is best to wear tall ankle boots . Lots of fallen and burned trees on the trail. AS started kicking in at 9000 ft altitud so I have to take it slow and make sure I was taking frequents mini breaks. My feet were killing me. It was a long long hike. Once I reached the summit I was so tired that I did not stand up for the pics lol. I made it and that’s what it matters. We returned at 3:30 p.m so we were able to get 1 hr descending with light and 3 hrs in darkness, to get to our car.
I am so thankful for this opportunity. Thank you SoCal for helping me to become confident and responsible hiker. SoCal organization and the members feedback and experience, is so helpful. Happy holidays to all ???
