9 Peak Traverse Recap: Starting at 1AM, we arrived at the first peak by 5AM. Running on almost no sleep, we decided to attempt to nap at the summit. Huddling for warmth under emergency blankets and all the layers, I had a few moments of doubt that we would finish the hike that day.. but then the sun peaked over the horizon, turning the sky a glowing pink that lifted our spirits. So onward we went to crush peak after peak after peak. Yes, physically it was tough. 9 peaks, 8k+ elevation gain, and 31 miles in one day is no joke. But honestly, the harder part was the mental stamina it required. Those last miles to the end were the longest of my life. I would never have made it if it wasn't for 8 other badass trail friends keeping me motivated, inspiring me, and making me laugh when I needed it. I am so glad there's people out there that are as crazy as me.
