I started the hike at about 7:00 a.m. from the trailhead. There was plenty of parking available. I purchased the parking passes started my way up the trailhead. Being from the valley I immediately noticed the altitude difference because I was breathing heavy already. The trail is pretty visible most of the way. I only veered off the trail a couple of times because I wasn't paying attention to obvious signs of trail use like footprints etc. I used my premium All Trails to get me back on track which I highly recommend. I only saw a handful of other hikers on the trail. I found it extremely difficult and I brought a camel pack with 3 l of water and I drank all of it by the end of the hike. But there were people on the trail smoking past me who only had a small bottle of water with them which I found surprising. It was very warm, in the low 90s. This is my first trail of the six pack and for my fitness level it has me questioning whether or not I'll do another.
