I know many people complained about this trail in summer but now is a perfect timing to do this trail. We started at 9am and the rangers recommended us to do the whole loop which is around 15-16miles instead of the in-and-out. We were not sure about the loop so we did the in-and-out in 8hrs. The weather was perfect. The “short-cut” was steep but I did other difficult trails before so it was not that bad for me, only 1.5 mile steep. The rest of the trail was decent, but I highly recommend trekking poles because going down was slippery. I slipped. It gets dark early so start early.
