Smokey skies and dusty trail, but a beautiful hike through a burned out forest. Amazing what a forest fire can leave behind.
we left the trailhead at 8:30 and summited 2 hours later around 10:30-10:40am, then back at the car at 12:00pm.
The hike was mostly through the burned trees, with some areas of wild flowers and small green bushes. We topped out with a moonscape crossing towards the rocky summit. Another cool sight. We climbed the rocks to the true summit and then walk along the crater rim for a bit. No views due to the smoke, but we did see the tips of a few mountains.
Great hike.
