I have hiked Baden-Powell dozens of times over the years and many tines in the snow.  This was the most snow and deepest snow pack I have ever hiked on this particular peak.  It was hard going all the way up and even more difficult on the way down.  It was easiest on the way down to make your own tracks, but even then it was challenging. Gear was definitely required and the more the better.  We had gaiters, micro-spikes and full crampons in addition to ice axes.  All were necessary at some point.  Even though it was hard going.  The views were amazing and it was a perfect day for a winter hike, blue skies and lots of visibility.  It was not too cold or too windy.
