The day started out chilly (around 45 degrees) but we warmed up very quickly once we were in the sun. It was hot coming back down from the summit, but a nice breeze to cool us down. The horseflys were horrible… especially on the way back when it warmed up a bit. I ended up with no less than 12 bites on my shoulder (through my shirt)… and some on my hands and wrists. It must be due to recent rains as I've never had that problem on this hike before.
The hike itself is beautiful, one of my very favorites in the San Diego Six-Pack of Peaks!
