When I arrived at the park, the ranger recommended that I start my hike from Juniper Campground where I planned to spent the night. He called it the Grand Loop and while it’s less strenuous than the Mitchell option, I really enjoyed it. I didn’t see any other hikers, but there many cyclists and a few runners I saw at the visitors center. The center and tower only open at 10:00 and I couldn’t visit the highest point.
