This hike was really difficult to find, especially with the lack of service. When we did find we had a blip, we pulled over and put in the coordinates to find the trailhead.
This trail was really just an overgrown Jeep path. You had the same view the whole way and you didn't actually summit. The trail just kind of stops. Because it was overgrown we got a fair amount of scratches and burrs in our boots.
The highlights of the day were hiking with the landowner's dog and going to the painted hills afterward.
Personally I'd recommend replacing this with something like Paulina's peak as the views were amazing and the day in the lava park was well worth it.
