We started late in the day and the area was pretty socked in with a very wet marine layer (typical for this time of year). It had rained, and the bottom half of the trail was pretty muddy. The single track was less muddy, but the rocky part approaching the peak was pretty slick. The rock formations were spectacular. Poles were helpful on the descent, which ended in a light mist and near darkness (I had a headlamp). It was a great hike though and I plan to do it again when it's clear and what seems would be stunning views.
